James Rye BA, MPhil, MA, Cert CBT, MBACP (Registered and Senior Accredited) is a qualified and experienced counsellor and therapist. He has worked with clients on the telephone from around the UK and the world, and with clients who have travelled to his office.
James has an MA in Humanistic Counselling Studies from the University of Nottingham, a Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) from the University of East Anglia, a Certificate in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) from the Albert Ellis Institute, a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision from the University of Derby, and has completed the Foundation Course in Solution-focused Brief Therapy at BRIEF in London.
James is reassuringly a Senior Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP Snr.Accred. number 553053) and is a registered practitioner on the BACP Register, accredited by The Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, set up by the Department of Health (registration number 013083). He has an up-to-date Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Certificate (number 001449129447). James was also formerly Chair of the Private Practice Division within the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (2013-2015).
James worked in Education and Middle Management for a number of years before re-training as a counsellor and psychotherapist. He now is a director of Connections Counselling Ltd in King's Lynn, Norfolk, UK, PE30 3HA and a Partner in Peterborough Counsellor Training. He is married with two, grown-up children.
